Neil Shorthouse is Director LeaderCom and retired Co-Founder Communities in Schools Neil’s vision between the school and communities affiliate brings support and resources to the schools in their community by: Conducting assessments of the community to determine the need for CIS; Partnering with school district leadership to identify where CIS can have the greatest impact; Hiring, training and assigning  site coordinators to schools in need; Partnering with school districts, local agencies, businesses and foundations to garner support for the organization and its work; Mobilizing community resources to address academic and nonacademic barriers and finally; Continuously evaluates their work at all levels to ensure progress is made and goals are met.
