Sylvia Christine Hooker, CEO of The Center, is a veteran of thirty-three years in education and fourteen years in the corporate sector. Her experience as a gospel musician and choir director since the age of 14, an administrative assistant at a thriving machine tool firm, banking data processor, filing and travel assistant at one of the big eight accounting firms and HR representative for then one of America’s largest toy companies, prepared her to enter the field of education with skills and knowledge to meet the needs of the communities of learning in which we serve.

At thirty-six she entered the field of education and hasn’t looked back. Groomed by exemplary teachers, leadership coaches and mentors, she was told she had to “walk on water” and she pursued her certification under the instruction of Drs. Renzulli and Reiss (UCONN) in the field of gifted education. From” gifted to alternative” teaching and leadership assignments, she has taught and trained teachers and leaders to teach all students and lead all schoolsas if all were designated the “best of the best”.  Having received Teacher Magazine’s Award of Honorable mention in her first year of teaching to her appointment as Georgia’s Deputy Superintendent for School Turnaround in 2011, Sylvia has made it her mission to ensure all children that everyone who desires to become a part of THIS awesomely noble profession performs it with passion, dignity and quality.

Her role as the CEO of The Center for Transformational of Teaching & Learning, is to use her multiple skills by providing teachers and leaders with the highest quality on- time educational and corporate resources available to meet the needs of schools in this competitive age.
